Do they think we're too stupid to make our own choice?

With communities, cities, and states banning smoking in bars & restaurants does anyone else feel insulted? It seems they think that business owners(some of whom have been around for decades) are too stupid to run their own business. Potential employees are too stupid to decide for themselves whether they should apply for a job at a place that isn't smoke free. Patrons to these businesses are too stupid to say "hey, that place allows smoking. I'll go somewhere else". I take that as a personal insult.

Sybil, it's not MY plight. It's our plight. This isn't a smoking/non-smoking issue as much as it is a matter of personal choice. I chose to quit smoking some time ago. That was my CHOICE.
What other choices are you willing to let the government make for you?

Poor you. Since I have severe asthma I don't feel too sympathetic to your plight.

I think they're just leading up to making smoking illegal. On the other side, though, many parents expose their children to smoking without worrying about the consequences and this prevents children from having to inhale as much 2nd hand smoke. (Although banning smoking from bars is stupid.)
