car auto paint?

Dont laugh. My black car got a huge stain on the roof and hood...I thought it was oxidation. I took it to a detail shop, the told me a better guess would be vandelism that some chemical was thrown on my car. they couldnt buff it out and said my only choice was to take it to a proffesional shop to have paint striped. well the quotes I got are $1000....I only plan on having the car another 18 months and just dont have 1k to put toward car. So against the advice of everyone....I sprayed me roof and and then sprayed with top coat. I was pretty even handed and doesnt look as bad as you may think, but obivously it is uneven....looks ok wet. So my question is if I sand will that help even it out, then with a smoother surface is there any polish wax, anything that will even the color out or give it a wet look. I didnt touch the hood, so my question for that is there a wax or polish that will hide it, the stain is a small area there. well thanks

you can use a rubbing compound on it and a good buffer ,and remove some of the haze from it,that will make it have a lot more of an even shine on it,it might help to wet sand it with a piece of 1000 grit paper also, this will help smooth it out,you can get it to look a little better, though it will take a little work ,but it will help it,good luck on it hope this helps.

Wet sanding with very fine grit 'wet sand paper (black grit)' 600 grit minimum will help, followed by rubbing compound. Don't get too agressive though with the sanding, or you will go right through the paint. Oh, and don't hope for unrealistically good results. It's going to suck, but it will be better than what you now have.

Sounds like you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Try sanding it, buffing it out and then use a high-quality wax such as Meguiar's Tech Wax. It should look all right. Good luck

Wet sand it, buff it out, then I suggest maybe Klasse AIO to finish it off.

if you dont plan on keeping the car for much longer get a cheap paint job . i recommend MAACO auto painting , you can get the whole car painted for around $350-450.
