Just becuase this amnesty bill was defeated, have you stopped calling, faxing, e-mailing your congressmen?
Or are you still keeping the pressure on them, only this time to secure the border and enforce immigration laws?

The amnesty bill technically was not defeated completely. But it definetly was a victory. And yes I am still going to keep the pressure on my congressmen. I strongly believe that we need to secure our borders and enforce all of our laws. There is no reason we should get a new set of laws when we cant even manage to enforce the ones we currently have.

OK, I don't keep up with national stuff 'cause it's useless. They have so obfuscated the bill that who knows what it says anyway? In my opinion it doesn't matter what the law is because it won't/can't be enforced. We don't fine employers of illegal immigrants now, more than a slap on the wrist and they are making enough profit not to care, so there's that. We can't/won't stop providing them with government assistance, so that's a bust. We keep giving in to the bleeding hearts around the whole anchor baby/babies (because they don't stop at one) mess and splitting up families, which if they stayed in their own countries that wouldn't be a problem, and no one is willing to say that's enough. Deportation is ridiculous, building Mexico's economy is ridiculous, why should we? and any money sent to Mexico will be siphoned off by their officials, anyway. Do you get my drift? Sending emails, letters, (even if signed in blood) does absolutely no good, because it doesn't matter what the law is, it will not be enforced and we will just throw money at solutions bound to fail, as we have with the education system for the last 30 years. Our government is ineffectual and incompetent and basically just sucks; and if you think I'm wrong, then wait a year, regardless of what the law is, and we will still be moaning and arguing about the same things. As a nation the people are willing to waste millions and billions of dollars on a totally lost war against drugs because no one wants to consider any other option than NO!, but we are not willing to spend any money to restrict our country and its benefits from people who shouldn't be here anyway.

I'm still hammering them daily. Since this broke 3 weeks ago, I've sent over 500 emails, made about 30 phone calls and sent a couple of dozen faxes to my Legislators and the President.
Edit: Great question btw.

keep up the pressure and at every chance get it out in the media that you oppose amnesty and worker programs. also include in your correspondence a statement of rejection of the anchor baby clause. the borders have got to be secured. we are being invaded and taken over by a foreign country without a shot being fired.
