Looking for Best small town in Oregon to live. Within 50 miles to international airport.?

My husband and I have three sons 12,14 & 22. We own a boat and would like to use it where we live. We like some snow and rain. I am looking for the cottage home with the white picket fence. We are in our mid 50's and need employment as well, in the insurance industry. We fly to southern Ca about three times a year so we need to be within 50-60 miles of an international airport. We are very mellow creative people and look for the same in the place that we live. Any suggestions please. We are looking to relocate before next summer.

Grants Pass or Medford, which are in the Rogue River valley.

Medford population is about 60 or 70 thousand, and Grants Pass is about 20 thousand. There are also a lot of other tiny towns in that vicinity.,

Medford and Grants Pass are 30 miles apart, and Grants Pass is about 70 miles from the Oregon coast and the road over there winds through northern California and the Redwood Forest.

Also nearby is Ashland, Oregon, a college town and home of the Shakespeare Festival with a lot of other cutural activities. Ashland does tend to be more liberal, however.

It does snow in te mountains around there and there is a ski resort just south of Ashland. It doesn't snow very much in the valley, itself.

The whole region is booming the last I heard, and there should be plenty of insurance opportunities. I lived up there for 19 years, am in my 50's also and would like to move back.
