Why do people say it feels cooler to wear black in Egypt?

Isn't white suppose to make you feel a lot cooler than black?but some people who came back from Egypt says, wearing black is totally much cooler than white...what do you think?now i'm confused on what to pack?white clothes or black?

It is better to wear white or light colors, white reflects the sun rays back away from you. The most important thing is to avoid synthetic clothes. Pure cotton breathes and allows the sweat to evaporate. T shirts and loose skirts made of cotton are your best bet.

May be they mean cool as in fashionable not cool as in temperature

Black absorbs light, therfore radiated heat coming with the sun light will be absorbed by dark clothes and hence will contribute in increasing your body temperature during day time.

White has an opposite effect thus reflecting light and heat away from your body.

Accordingly wearing Black or White at night should not make a big difference because there is less radiated heat (No sun light). Colour of your garments doesn't affect other forms of heat transfer i.e. by conduction (direct touch) or convection (By the movement of air).

The colour of clothes doesn't affect sweat evaporation either... it's rather the kind of fabric.

wearing black in Egypt makes my skin burn or rather feel like its burning. I think that those people who wear black in Egypt tend to wear very loose flowing clothes where as we wear tight fitting ones and the heat is just absorbed by it. I simple cannot wear black in the day in the sun its too hot.
any other colour but not black,

Dark colours are supposed to be worn in Winter , cuz they attract sunlight so they make us feel warmer , and white colour reflect sunlight so it's supposed to be worn in Summer to make us feel cooler that's all . and that's why i don't agree with those ppl .
