If you are fortunate to stay at home, you take them out every 15 to 20 minutes, and pretty soon they waddle over to the door themselves. Also, at night until they are broken, you crate them. That's what I did to my 3 dogs.

Crate training. I do it with all my foster dogs. They learn quick and it minimizes the accidents in my house before they are completely trained. Some don't like the crate, but I crate them anyway for their own good. I only crate them when I'm gone, and then take them outside immediately after I come home. Give praise and treats when he goes potty outside.

Best method is to have someone with them when young. Watch them, they sniff around, time to put them out whether they go or not. Trust me a dog will pee. They cramp up when they need a poo, backs up, crouch position, time to go outside.
Sometimes puppies need you to go out into them at first, like children they need to feel secure.
I've done this and never had a problem, unless the dog is just dumb training is easy.

Crate training.. Putting the puppy outside, praising him when he goes out and does his thing outside.. Correcting him when you catching him doing the wrong thing in the house.

Buy peeing pads for dogs and puppy trainer spray, and use them as needed.
