question about diabetes?

is it true, that going low is alot more dangerous than being high with the blood sugar level?

i know that going low can mean coma, death and all those nice things, but what about having too much?

High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)can destroy your kidneys, eyes(blindness) cause peripheral neuropathy and heart disease.
In other words both can be dangerous to your well being. If you have type 2 diabetes you may be able to control it with diet, exercise and by losing weight.
If you have type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent) you need to take insulin for life
I hope I helped alittle
Good luck

Having low blood sugars is an immediate emergency. The blood sugars need to come up right away.
High blood sugars can take years to kill you. It is really bad, but not such an emergency.

Having too much as you say is very dangerous. My aunt died from her blood sugar level being over (believe it or not) 1500mg/dl. It burned her brain. Her blood sugar level was one that was extremely hard to regulate, though. But yes, too high is dangerous, and too low is dangerous.

need to try and be stable - not too high, not too low and few spikes/deep valleys. that does the most long term damage I am told
