I hate my neighbors!?

We bought our first house in a nice new housing edition. We plan on living in it about 5 years and then selling it. We have the following issues with our neighbors...
They have 4 dogs chained up in their backyard that they do nothing with. They never clean up after them and they bark constantly. The 5th dog lives in the house and they let it crap and pee all over our front lawn.
They have 6 cars, 4 are junkers. One has no muffler and they drive it around or rev it constantly. They do major body work in their garage. One car is parked in the back yard.
They rarely mow their lawn. They have an old mower they took the muffler off that is very loud. They park it on their front lawn.
They also drive with their 6 month old baby in their laps. They drive way too fast in the neighborhood and frequently drive or park in our ditch so it's rutted out and grass won't grow in it. They're making the street look like a dump and they drive us crazy with all their noise. What can we do?

We've tried talking to them, calling Animal Control and the sheriff on them and complained to the builders. Several other neighbors have also said stuff to them but they don't understand why everyone "picks" on them. They are also the first ones to complain about anyone else being too loud. They also freely use our front yard but have their backyard roped off to the inside of our survey stakes. They got really snippy with us for being on "their property" when we built our fence even though it's almost 2' off the property line. Basically, they are very touchy about anyone infringing upon them but they can do whatever they want.

They had just moved in when we bought the house so no they didn't have 6 cars and 5 dogs when we bought the house. Both houses were new when we moved in.

In some places there is a strong civic association, which issues citations for high grass, algae growing on home exteriors, junk cars, and things like that. Apparently you have no civic association, or a weak one at best. Once you move, be sure to inquire about the local civic association prior to purchase. If there isn't one, keep looking for another location.

Additionally: There is a spray available that repels animals from lawns. That might be a good product for you to use to keep away the poop and urine.

Good luck.

You can call the Humane Society on the neighbors, they actually have people that are cops that will go out and ticket people with animals that are chained up all day long and will take them away if they don't change their act.
Your city should have ordinances about junk cars, if they are not licensed call the police department and report it. Also you can't have a garage in a residential area they probably have used oil all over the place an enviromental hazard.
Many cities have 'clothesline laws" where you can't have junk in your front yard and also if their dog is destroying your grass you take pixs and take the neighbors to small claims court.
Quit complaining and do something about it!

Not a lot unless you have noise ordinances in your area. If you do, you can call the cops and complain about the car, at least. And perhaps the dogs.

Otherwise, I don't think you can DO anything. Other than hope that they get pulled over by a cop and have to attend parenting classes before they get that baby killed!

1. You can call the cops when they do not have their child in a car seat.
2. You can call the cops when they make too much noise late at night.
3. You can call the cops to report any unlicensed vehicles in their yard.
4. You can call the cops to report illegal modifications to their vehicles.
5. You can let them know that they can not let their pet go to the restroom in your lawn.
6. You can request that they not park in your ditch.
