This is the way to make this works:
1. Install SQL SERVER 2000 clients tools
2. Browse your SQL SERVER cd, navigate to the MSDE folder, run SETUP.EXE

The server is up and running...!

Alternatively, you can also install MSQL 2005, check the system requirements here... and install the MSQL edition that suits your needs and matches your OS...

if you have sql server 2005 you have to have windows server 2003 installed as a opertaing system. If not you need to use sql server express which has the same functionality but less features.

hi you can use sqlserver2000 cd and install client tools
check language that you want and set user name and password like sa,123
