Could you guys evaluate my site at http://www.fstop2image.com?

I have asked this questions a few times before and have made some of the changes that you guys have reccomended. I'm just trying to better my site and my photography. So if you would one more time, I'd appreciate it very much. If you like, could you also sign my guestbook?

First of all you have some lovely images - you definitely have the "eye." while I initially like the web page (and you logo btw :oD ) I would recommend some changes.

1) Decrease the amount of text on your front page: Your website is ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY and you want your visitors to know that the instead they hit your page. Increase the size of the indx page photograph (very good choice of image btw) and consider moving the majority of your text to another place on your site. It is clear that you have put a lot of thought into what you wrote there and it shows ... but the index page isn't always the place to put it. I would consider leaving the first two paragraphs on the index page as that is essentially your mission statement ... By reading those first tow paragraphs and seeing the front page image, I have enough to inspire me to look at more of your work.

2) Organize the gallery: You have some very sound images in your gallery (you don't need to call it *art* gallery by the way - that is redundant as most people in this era recognize photography as one of the arts) but when all put on the same page it creates a kind of hodge podge and I can't appropriately appreciate them. Considering creating a landscapes portfolio and a macro portfolio (or a flowers portfolio as you wish) so that they are at least roughly organized by type.

3) Photoshop: Ah he modern world of Photoshop. For a purist/traditionalist like myself I don't use it so I don't have to worry about letting my audience know that I did. For you though I noticed the Cleveland skyline and the Cleveland with Moon skyline were exactly the same, save the moon. *First* I would choose which one you want up there. Even if it's not true, repeating an image with only minute changes tells the audience that you didn't have enough good work to use different pictures to flesh out your portfolio. In your case I highly doubt this is true, but do you want to chance someone thinking that? *Secondly* and most importantly, if you use Photoshop to alter an image MAKE A NOTE OF IT. If one has a website of Photoshop images entirely then this is not necessary ... but you have a lit of straight work, and then something that is clearly photoshopped to the trained eye. To not note that you altered the image can be seen as dishonest in many circles and can end up hurting your credibility with the people that you are trying to impress.

4) Animations: remove the scrolling bar on the "About Us" page. Animations and scrolling images hang up on slower internet connections and computers, and appear unprofessional on an otherwise professional page. If the information is important to you, place it as permanent text where the viewer will not have to strain to read what it says. Remember, the goal of your site is to advertise what you can do and make the viewer's stay on your page as easy as possible. If something on your page does not directly serve on of those needs then I would question if it belongs.

Best of all keep at it! You have some fantastic work and just remember you page is your online portfolio. It take a while to get things the way you want it (mine took two years) so don't get discouraged.

Great photos. I actually bought a framed photo( not yours) as a wedding gift 2 days ago as I wanted something original and unique for the couple. I love how photos capture time. Good luck to you in the future.
