I need an answer to a riddle! There are five crows sitting on a fence...?
What order are they sitting in?
1. Clyde is the same distance from Alvin that Alvin is from Benny. 2. Ed is seated between Donald and Alvin. 3. Benny is sitting next to Ed. 4. Ed is not seated between Benny and Donald.
I've tried to figure this one out but i just can't get it! Any help?

Okay so none of you were right... sorry. But what my dad came up with is Clyde....Alvin, Ed, Benny, Donald.
Because Clyde doesn't have to be seated right next to Alvin... he can be one spot away.
I'll find out for sure tommorow though

To follow rule one, the setup must either be C-A-B or --CAB or -CAB- or CAB--. The first is ruled out since E cannot be both between D and A and not between D and B at the same time. So it leave three.
:--CAB
If E is on the End, then you can't follow 2. Putting E second puts Ed between Benny and Donald, so no.
:-CAB-
E can not be on the ends, so no.
:CAB--
E cannot be on the end, nor can it be between B and D, so I'm confused. Are you sure you copied it right?
Donald, Benny, Ed, Alvin, Clyde (or the reverse order) It satisfies all the rules: Ed is between Donald and Alvin. Benny is next to Ed. Ed is not between Benny and Donald. The first clue seems a little confusing, but distance really has nothing to do with the seating arrangement. Clyde could just be sitting as far away from Alvin in inches or feet as Alvin is sitting from Benny, as long as Clyde doesn't get in between Benny and Alvin because this would obviously make the distance between Benny and Alvin more than the distance between Clyde and Alvin. If this is for school and you get the correct answer tomorrow, please let me know if I was right or wrong. Good luck.
ADD: Well, actually I did have the same order your Dad says, I typed it in the opposite order and then put that it could be in the reverse order as well. Oh well, I guess you didn't read my answer thoroughly or it confused you. I'm glad your Dad was there to help you. - Jaci .
