Do you agree with the censorship of Kathy Griffin's "Jesus" comments?
She said that most performers thank Jesus for their win, she said no one had less to do with her win than Jesus. The censors are cutting that comment out of the broadcast to avoid offending people. Do you agree with the censorship?
i like kathy griffin, and i don't agree with the censorship of that comment, if it offends you don't listen to it! to me it's not like she's really putting down Jesus, it's more like she's making fun of people who most likely backstabbed or screwed someone else over to get where they are, and now all the sudden they want to thank Jesus! lol! that's just crazy!!
No I don't agree. I hate Kathy Griffin, but she has a right to say what she wants. The fu***ing church is demanding an apology from the network & Kathy, which is bullcrap. I get really tired of how our country in the last 10 years has become an apologetic, wussed out version of it's former self. It always seems that the smallest group has the loudest voice. & instead of saying "Well that's your opinion. Sorry we're not going to change this country just for you few. You need to learn to adapt" We say "OH GOD!!! We're sorry, Please don't sue us, just because you don't believe in the FREEDOM OF SPEECH!"
It's all crap. & people wonder why we're being targetted by the less powerful countries right now. it doesn't matter if we're the strongest damn country on the planet earth or not. If we sit there & let people in our country bully us & kick us all around we will be a country divided. & that's when we are attacked.
I dont think she's the end-all be-all of comedy, but I thought the Jesus comment was very insightful and comedically poignant. Im so tired of everyone thanking Jesus for everything including Superbowls, basehits, not getting voted out of realty tv competitions etc... The comment she made was hysterical to me and right on the money. If you are offended by it, then you can bite me. Everyone thanking Jesus for everything offends me. Dont shove your religion down my throat.
and to "Jeancom.." above, I hope you are being sarcastic, because you appear to need psychiatric help.
This week on Ellen she said sometimes she hears herself say things that she is shocked she said. She did not apologize for the slur but I believe she knew better. In my opinion she crossed the line and was no longer funny. The FCC is very particular and I believe it was in the best interest of the production company to remove it from future rebroadcast. Save that stuff for her own show where people know what to expect. Thank you.
