How do I give my hair more body at the top back of my head?
My skull is flat back there, and it looks dumb.

Try spraying a root lifter on your roots in the areas you want to lift while your hair is damp. Blow dry the area with a round brush. Also try parting your hair on different sides to help add lift. If you can pull off a zig-zag part, my hairdresser tells me that adds tons of lift also...I personally can't do it very well.

I have the same problem. What I do is use a leave in volumizing spray at the roots and a volumizing mousse throughout my hair. Be sure not to use too much product because you don't want to weigh your hair down. Then I dry my hair upside down till it's almost dry. Then I use some large velcro rollers in the back and on top and finish blow drying my hair with the rollers in. I let my hair cool down while I'm finishing getting ready and remove the rollers last thing before I leave.
ugh
spray and an afro pick..crimping is good too..this may sound crazy but thats what i have to do when i straighten my hair so it won't be flat. put mousse in it, dry it upside down, afro pick it, spray it with a volumizing spray, crimp where you want it to have the most volume (don't spray after you crimp it unless you want it to stay crimped..cuz if you leave it the crimps will fall out and the volume will still be there)

Blow dry up side down
Use volumizing gels or moose
Use a round brush when you blow dry
