I have a 99' Ram 1500 with a v8 Magnum. Recentley, several gas stations with E-85 gas have appeared in my town and I want to start using them if possible. Is it possible to convert my truck over to handel the ethanol gas? If so, does anyone have an idea of cost?

Unless you have a flex fuel capable engine, it's a very bad idea to use E85. To convert your truck over you'd have to replace the engine and computer, think at least $3000.

the quick answer is not any you cant.Ethanol is corrosive while they build flex -gas automobiles the use the two plastic or stainless-steel gas tanks stainless-steel gas strains and stainless-steel injector areas and reset the computor to run on the two E-80 5 or time-honored gas some at here will inform you that they regulate the gas pump via possibility of sparking inflicting a hearth yet that is authentic in there worldwide yet in fact u go with 2 issues for combustion gas and air gas is there yet no longer air with the gas cap on

There is no point. It is costly to convert even if you can. The end result is less mpg as alcohol produces less hp than gas. Don't even try it as it could render the engine useless.

From what I've heard, it's not worth it. How about the usual e-10% ethanol blend?

you're not gonna get the gas mileage with e85 it may be cheaper but you'll be filling more often
