Why I am afraid that America is heading for a lot of trouble? What do you think?
They are taking God out of everything remember Isreal in the Bible everytime they forgot God they got into a lot of trouble America is heading down that same path. There seems to be a lot of conflict about separation of church and state. I would not like the state to be able to take over the church either. I believe that when the people wrote the constitution they did not want the state to be able to make laws or take over the church. I do not believe that they wanted prayer to be taken out because they prayed for God to guide them when they wrote the Constitution. There is a defference do you not think.

When God discussed Sodom and Gomorrah with Abraham, God told him that he would not distroy it if there were found 10 righteous people there. I think that it is not so much what they are doing that matters, but what we are doing. We need to pray, and pray a lot.
Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
No one is taking away your God. You have the freedom to worship. You need to understand the xian God does not represent every citizen in America & should not be on public docs, schools, building etc. Read the Constitution along with The Declaration of Independance & you will understand. At least I hope you do.
Based on your beliefs of America & religion should we acknowledge all 5,000 Gods past & present or just pick & choose the ones we like? Better yet just the xian god, because America isn't a free country with unbound diversity. How silly.
Add- So I get it, you believe religion has a place in gov, but it has no place in religion. Wow. Have you read the Declaration of Independance or the Constitution? Any essays or quotes from our forefathers? If so, when was the last time? I find it funny that ppl talk about it, but probably haven't read these docs since high school or college. If you want prayer in school send your children to a private school or home school.
The real trouble in America is the loss of the ability to communicate effectively, as your question quite admirably demonstrates.
America isn't taking God out of everything. God belongs in churches and holy places; not in courts and on money. (Remember the words of Jesus? Whose picture was on the money ... God's or Caesar's?) He said "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's."
We don't need the Christian God on every government document. He doesn't belong there. When he is, he is rendered as nothing more than an excuse to bully other countries, and to persecute people here who do not believe in him. Remember what the "Good Christian colonies" did to presumed witches a few hundred years ago?
God belongs in people's lives and churches and Bibles; not in government. No religion should be imposed on those who don't believe in it. Just as you would hate Atheism or Paganism shoved down your throat, why should Atheists or Pagans or Jains or Buddhists have the Christian beliefs forced upon them? It only serves to make Christianity look like a brutish rapist in the eyes of the world.
America has a lot more faith so don't count us out yet. People think the 9/11 was the time and a few weeks after that you could see religion in people. It is there all the time but is not reported. Faith is like a rainbow and tragedies bring out both the rain and suns light at the same time. But when the sun is gone or the rain is gone, trust me that whatever caused the rainbow to exist is still there. And that is what faith is like.
I think I'm friggin' sick and tired to death of people constantly whining about how rotten America is becoming. Why? Because they took the Ten Commandments out of the courthouse? Because Marilyn Manson is popular? Get a grip, kids. We used to own slaves in this country. We used to keep women from voting. We use to allow children to work industrial, health-endangering jobs. We use to shove people into the back of the bus because their skin color was too dark. Would you prefer to go back to those days when we were so "moral"? I wouldn't. Apparently you haven't noticed, but we're actually moving closer and closer to the Christian ideal of tolerance and respect for one another...or isn't that the Christian ideal at all anymore?
