Has anyone bought a Bowflex and does it really work?

I'm sure you've all seen the ads on TV. If you work out with the Bowflex just 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week, that in no time you start getting results. I'd like to develop my abs and upper body but I'm skeptical about the Bowflex. Wouldn't diet be almost as important? Has anyone bought one of these machines and what kind of results have you experienced?

I have a bowflex and it definitely works. You will notice results but I think the bowflex is like a supplement in a way. Use it with free weights and you will notice very good results. I'll tell you what the first time I used that bowflex I was hurtin :) If you are just looking to tone out our abs or toning bowflex alone is perfect, if you want to gain a lot of size, there is nothing better than free weights. 3 workouts a week (but I'd try to at least go for an hour) of heavy lifting will make any person gain a significant amount of size if your diet is full of protein in a relatively short period of time.

I have one. I dont really like the workout anymore. I prefer freeweights. And yes, to get results you need diet and exercise. You cant usually just do one thing to get a "bowflex" body. It requires a whole lifestyle change. Good diet, little to no alcohol, lots of exercise, both resistance training as well as cardio. I spend a half hour on cardio and 2 hours with weights and I certainly dont have a bowflex body, but I also have different goals.

Why no longer get each? The PS3 does not price that so much and has a few excellent video games popping out quickly like fallout three and drive unleashed. I'd propose getting the bowflex pick tech dumbells, with the bench and stand. I have a bowflex perfect and feel the freeweights paintings plenty bigger.

My friend has one and it works great as a clothes rack.
