Is Putin lining up a new "Warsaw Pact" with his defense of Iran?

The biggest problem in the election of Putin is his KGB ties and the others from the KGB he brought into his administration. Its almost as if they are running a "covert" USSR with desires of superpower status again. That is one mistake I will acknowledge President Bush made early in his tenure is saying he could trust Russia and Putin. They are putting their paws over the Middle East and will probably help blow up the Palestinian state plans as a way of keeping the hostilities hot for them to have allies there.

I don't think every country sees us as a possible invader of their territory. The control Russia under Putin has put on the economy, the press, the former Russian republics, and eastern Europe show they want to be treated as the old USSR.

Well obviously he has interests that run counter to ours. He is cashing in on alot of the animosity most of the world feels towards us, and many countries see Russia as benevolent benefactor who can provide them with arms that we won't sell them. And of course the fact that every soverieign country that disagrees with us lives in mortal fear that we'll invade them fo no reason needsa big brother to get their back.
