Why does Mexico and illegal mexicans group me with illegal immigration?
My parents are cuban and I was born and raised in San Juan. Why is it that whenever I travel to the US, mexicans call me "brother". I'm not your brother. Culturally, puerto ricans and cubans are more like americans than they are to mexicans. Its a shame when people like me get associated with what MEXICANS are doing to the immigration system in the US. People from puerto rico (REAL puerto ricans not the ones from new york) are ashamed by what mexicans are doing to the USA.
Are you aware at what mexicans do to illegal immigrants in Mexico. Did you know that during the cuban revolution, cubans fled to teh embassy only to be handed to fidel's firing squads.....

amanda I am saying this.. if you groupo people based on skin color (not race because mexicans are pred. indian and cubans spanish) you are ignorant That is what you are doing right now. If you group people by culture then your argument fails, because mexicans have a totally different culture than cubans or puerto ricans.

You have a valid point. Being born in Puerto Rico means you are an American Citizen, and above all else, you deserve Respect!
I had no idea how horrid Mexico was to Cubans who wanted democracy. Mexico has never been held accountable for the atrocities they've committed so they have no right to criticize USA.
Besides, the Mexican government prints this document to assist in getting rid of it's own people. That's right, Mexico steers all their poor and uneducated NORTH. Here's proof:
This seems to be a real sore point with you since you post this same question often.
Cubans now are using Mexico to illegally cross into the states. We have the wet foot dry foot law. But first they are illegally in Mexico. So I really see no difference in the 2 cultures. Other than our government hates Fidel and love Fox and Calderon. Once Calderon ticks us off like Fidel has we'll probably give Mexicans political asylum too. because technically Mexico treats their people worse than Cuba. But hey...it's all politics.
Just noticed something. Your parents are Cuban but yet you say you're Puerto Rican. That would make you a Cuban Exile. Are you ashamed of your Cuban heritage too not just the Mexicans? How sad to be ashamed of who you are. I feel for you truly.
Most people see dark complexion and someone speaking Spanish and they assume Mexico because of the percentage of immigrants that are from Mexico. They are clearly the majority.
I have to say, though, you do sound like a "hater", and, in my opinion, anyone that would think it is such a disgrace to be "categorized" with a certain nationality or color of people has issues to deal with. There are good people of colors and nationalities, and, bad of all as well.
*edit* I am well versed in cultures and know very well the differences. MY POINT, however, is simple: WHEN SOMEONE LOOKS AT YOU, they can't tell your nationality anymore than you could tell the nationality of a German, Swiss, or, Frenchman by sight. The point is simple. Without getting into a conversation, you don't know where someone is from. And, sorry, but, yo asked WHY you are categorized with others. Simply put: the similarities (complexion, language) are what makes people see you as "the same"
Well what can you do the Mexican governtment are a bunch of hypocrites. They bitc.h about us sending back their illegals but being and illegal immigrant in Mexico will land you in jail how ironic.
