Its called Dussera.On this day King Rama killed King Ravana.This day is celebrated as a day when good triumphed over evil.Rama symbolises Goodness,while Ravana symbolises Evil.In Hindu mythology,Ramayana the sacred epic of all Hindus,vividly describes the downfall of King Ravana at the hands of Lord Rama for kidnapping godesses Sita,the legendry wife of Lord Rama.
