I am not getting my yahoo email today! One message took more than 8 hours to receive.?

I have free Yahoo email that I've had for more than 7 years. Not using SBC/ATT cuz it's not available here, so I connect thru Verizon broadband. I sent several text messages to my mail today and only some of them came through. . . And those were severely delayed.

It's not a Verizon problem. I sent the yahoo email account messages from my hotmail account, too. Same problem. So, I called Yahoo and they said that since it's not SBC and not a premium account, they can't help me.

WHO CAN I CONTACT TO GET THIS RESOLVED?

aznpnut: good suggestion, but that isn't the problem.

others: I am guessing it's a yahoo upgrade issue, but am frustrated that I can't find a way to talk to someone about this problem. Just because it's free email and not a premium package shouldn't justify no bug-reporting system.

jmeng: LOL about MS. I own both Macs and Windows machines :-) As for the fires, good point. However, I live in the same city as Yahoo and we're not burning here!

The more I think about it, the more I wonder about the fire effects. I use Verizon to connect to the internet, and Verizon to send text messages from my phone to Yahoo, but I don't have problems sending text to hotmail, so that's why I say it's a YAHOO problem.

THE FIRST POSSIBLE REASON IS THAT YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM IS WRITTEN BY MICROSOFT AND YOU OWN A PC NOT A MACINTOSH/APPLE COMPUTER.
THE SECOND REASON COULD BE THAT HALF OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IS ON FIRE, SO THE INTERNET AIR WAYS ARE JAMMED WITH EVERYONE TRYING TO GET MORE INFO ABOUT THE CURRENT SITUATION. ITS A BAD SCENE HERE IN CALI.......

I think that there doing some new things....I had problems myself today...I was checking my mail and had to leave for an appointment and tried to shut down my computer and I couldn't get it to go off the screen...and when I finally did I had a dark screen with a white arrow...so I called my server, Comcast and hit the zero on the phone.... and spoke to a live person....wow....and my problem was solved in about three minutes....it was great !!!!!!!!! So call your server and see what they can do...I hope this helps....bye !!!!!!!!

maybe your firewall is slowing down the receiving process. it might be checking the emails you recieve or it might even be blocking the emails.

check your firewall if you have one

I think it is down ,try closing it and try signing in agan and see if that helps.
