are allowed to legally immigrate to the US this year? I used Mexicans just as a "for instance". Immigration is such a huge issue these days, and I am trying to find out what the quotas are for various nationals. Tomorrow is voting day here in Virginia, and I am not even sure what "immigration laws" really are. Thanks to anyone who can help or point to a website.

I am a legal resident from Mexico. Meaning I didn't come here illegally, I came through the proper channels. I'd like to point out that I have a college degree. So not all of us are unskilled workers.
To the guy who said they brought pot. Got it wrong the major drug trafficking business comes from Colombia not Mexico. People tend to thing that anybody who speaks Spanish is Mexican or just because they know a little about Mexicans they assume everyone is the same. I'm Mexican and you don't see me brining in pot every time I go to vacations in Mexico. But honestly only so little people are allowed in the USA. They need to own houses, have money in the bank, it's too complicated. My family tried to come and only my grandma managed to get a Visa because she owned two houses, had money in the bank, and had a job for the government. It's not as easy as it sounds.
