In March this California senior is going to visit the eastern half of our great country for the 1st time..we have allotted 4 months to do this..Or until the money runs out..We will travel in a RV..please give me suggestions of things to do and places to go in your state that might appeal to seniors..any of your favorite places would be welcome..Thank you..

Red dog, we are heading south in March and will work our way to Maine probably in early June..so hopefully we won't need winter coats then..as we don't even have any..

New Jersey, here.
Don't miss Cape May...it is at the very southern tip of the state and is beautiful. Wonderful little town full of restored Victorian homes and pedestrian downtown with cute shops and restaurants.
The Cape May is a wonderful place to spend the day at the beach...New Jersey has some of the most beautiful beaches on the eastern seaboard.
Then, up the coast some is Atlantic City..Everyone should spend a day or two there.
In New Jersey, you are within easy driving distance of the cities of Philadelphia - you could spend a week there visiting the historic places like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the new Constitution museum....plus, Philly is a lovely city, very walkable. Then a coupla hours you are in the "Big Apple".
Shenandoah Parkway, Smoky Mountain Parkway, Chesapeake Bay, Okefenokee Natural Wilderness, St. Simons Island Georgia, Biltmore House Asheville NC, Tallulah Gorge in the north Georgia Blue Ridge mountains
Um, ok I am in SC and I think it might be fun to crusie down here and head towards beaufort, SC and Savannah, ga.....first, the beaches are lovely and far less crowded than yours....there is a place called Hunting Island, SC and it is so beautiful...You can camp there or just come through and dip your toes in....as it is a state park......also, it is about 20 miles past beaufort, sc, which--along with savannah, ga--is where they shot 99% of Forrest Gump. The history alone is reason enough to visit these places, but the southern charm and the beautiful scenery are just as compelling....I would also try out Charleston, SC, but it isn't nearly as peaceful and easy to navigate in an RV as the others are. Have fun!!
VIRGINIA: Yorktown, Williamsburg, Washington D.C (plan on a few days)...the Holocaust Museum, WW2 Memorial, Korean War Memorial, The WALL. Luray Caverns. George Washington's home Mt. Vernon, Norfolk Naval Base bus tour (civilians aren't allowed to tour the base unescorted anymore), the Atlantic Ocean. That's just the tip of the ice burg. Virginia Beach is pretty much dead in March. But I'm pretty lively year 'round! Ask SLK about HER town. Been there and I LOVE it.
Ditto on the DC area...check though with capitolkoa.com on sites for the RV...you'll have mega probllems parking in downtown DC - the sites there are self explanatory given it is the nation's capital.
MD - Baltimore is only 38 miles from DC - visit the National Aquarium..a MUST see - it is located in Inner Harbor which is a site to see also
Virginia - Mt. Vernon; Old Town Alexandria; Virginia Beach.
