Why is it, when I have a snack before bedtime, I wake up starving?

If I eat before 6 pm, and nothing else, and go to bed, I dont wake up hungry, in the morning. But as soon as I eat a bowl of cereal, I wake up with my stomach growling and gnawling at my insides. Anybody else have this? No I'm not pregnant.

This happens to me, too. Good question..I have no idea what the answer is, so I looked online a bit and couldn't really find anything conclusive. I wonder if it's because your digestion system has to work to digest what you had before bed and it's ready for more when you wake up?

John's answer is a good one. I can't get my kids to eat breakfast, so when lunch comes they aren't hungry and leave the food in the pack. They choose it, it's not like I am packing cold brussels sprouts and liverworst...ha ha...but if I can get them to eat anything in the morning, then they will eat some of the lunch... I guess I need to ask HOW to get the little kidlets to eat...

Cause it sparks you appetite,it's like if you skip breakfast, you dont really get hungry at lunch,if you dont skip it you'll be starving at lunch time.
