Do people really know what sound quality is?
I see people refering to loud systems as sounding good, systems that were put together with high powered spl stuff that was not made with sound quality in mind at all... and saying things like that sub sounds wayy better in a ported box... it just makes me wonder do they really know what good sound is? or is louder "better" to most people these days?
I first learned what "sound quality" truely was when back in 1986 i heard a pair of getz speakers driven by a pair of BK mono blocks all conected with tributaries cabling.. i heard a drum solo from buddy rich and max roach that was on a record... and man it sounded like they were right there i literally got major goose bumps.... the system was a home system costing around 10k. from then on i knew what near perfection sounded like, today i think kids hear a pricy best buy installed kicker system and think thats what a SQ system is... am i wrong? or has the majority settled for compressed mp3's and low quality in car audio.
Sundown... ahh,... the joys of hearing the term "seperation".... (in audio i mean)
Dennis i love your comparison to HD its like people prefer a 60" standard def over a 40" high def... ..I dont get it...
MetalMan - I have said it before, i'd love to sit in your car for a test hearing, you got some great equipment and i know you are a guy that know what a true SQ system sounds like.
so Haro_bikes - i assume you like loud music more so than quality considering you say "when your ears are almost bleeding because the highs are penetrating deep into your ears yet feel the bass that is my goal."
MV - I am not denying that a loud system cant sound good, and your sytem looks as though it sounds great, but it seams alot of people have a budget and when it comes decsion time, quality takes a backseat to volume... thats what i dont understand.
