I think they should have run the ball on every other first and second down, mixed it up. Georgia watched Hawaii's tapes and thought that Colt could only quarterback a passing game. Hawaii got smeared because the coaching staff stubborningly insisted on passing. What do you think?

I think that they are nowhere near the team that people thought they were due to a ridiculously weak schedule inflating their numbers. Their O-line had no chance of protecting Brennan let alone opening up any running lanes. There's really nothing Hawaii could have done. They were completely out of their league and beaten by a much better team.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda??? Hawaii did the best they could with what they had. Bottom line...Hawaii should not have been in the game in the first place. Period. Last years Boise State win was a fluke and proved nothing except what we saw this year in that most any team can defeat any other team on any given weekend. Does that mean those 'fluke' wins indicate overall superiority in upset situations? Hawaii is the WAC champion...no doubt. They also played one of the weakest schedules in Division 1-A this year. The WAC is not a conference deserving a BCS bowl bid. Non-BCS bowls...absolutely. If the WAC wants true BCS legitimacy then they need a couple of games during the regular season against 'competitive' schools from other conferences. Just one mans opinion.
Hawaii is not on the same level as Georgia. UH couldn't stop the four man rush from killing Colt. They had the statistically weakest schedule in the country thats the only reason they went undefeated to begin with. Just look at the schools they play. If you are going to prove that the WAC is ready for the big time you have to play some big schools.
The only reason they scored at the end was because UGA had their B squad on the field.
To have actually beaten the Dawgs? Uh..they would need a two-QB system, a better run defense, more pressure on our QB, and more experience playing fast, hard-hitting football. I'm not trying to take anything away from Hawaii's 12-0 season, but it's easy to be undefeated against the teams they played. Georgia was a whole nother animal for them to tame, and they couldn't do it, from beginning to end. Hawaii's offensive line couldn't even make our defense pause, and that's what won the game for us. If I was a returning O-line player for Hawaii, I would start practicing as soon as I got back to the island...September and Florida are only nine months away, and if they couldn't even make a showing against Georgia, there's no way they can beat the Gators (who Georgia stomped in October). Vindication...it's a sweet, sweet word...Go Dawgs!
I agree...I don't think it is a good idea to pass on almost every single down, no matter how good your quarterback is, because the defense will not be off balance. I think it is wise to mix some running plays in on occasion (counters, running back reads, triple option, etc). If nothing else, the defense will be confused and off balance, leading to big plays by the offense.
