that was actually pretty interesting. most of them were just based off contests but at least a few of them had a good story behind them.

That's actually really cool. I wanted to know how some of the teams got their names. Some teams have blatanly obvious names, like the Florida Panthers. But some I didn't even know the story behind.

Thanks, that was cool. I've always loved the fact the our hockey team avoided the Buffalo name stigma. Ha, any Buffalo residents remember the Stampede? Lol. Exhibit A.

I've always wondered where in the world they came up with the "Trashers."
I knew where the inspiration for "Lightning" came from, but I didn't know that Espo and some of his friends where sitting on a porch during a storm when they thought of the name.
