what would make my manager think i'm her personal assistant?
I've got a new manager that thinks i am her personal assistant. she's less qualified for her job than me and has me take care of all the dirty work and medial tasks she is supposed to do. should i just contact the owner/broker and let him know who deserves credit? because I'm about sick of playing this game. (i work in real estate and while i have a license she cannot pass the exam after taking it 2 times)

Oh I gotta laugh, yesterday my boss wanted me to ship a package to his brother. He left it in my cube with a post-it on it. I picked it up, thought, "Uh-uh!" I dropped it back on his chair, he came back by, and I said, "No way, it's for your FAMILY. I ship MY own packages to my family!" He either figured it out himself, or got someone else to do it. But I was happy I drew the line! He's a good guy for the most part, and I do lots of favors for him and help out a lot outside my job description, but still... that was too much! On that note, any time you're doing something on paper make sure the words "Prepared By" and your name and the date appear on them on the bottom right corner. At least then the big boss can see who prepared them.
She's probably trying to keep your confidence down so you're less of a threat to her. If it's not part of your job, don't do it. Talk to her about it before you talk to the owner, it might be more effective than making a big deal out of it, but don't let her keep doing it.
If you want to be her little toady and let her grab all the credit for your hard work..do nothing..but if you want the credit that is due you..speak up! ( she will use you as long as you allow it to happen....)
