Disabled parking problem?

My daughter is disabled and her twin brother is not but he needs to be dropped off at preschool first (different schools). Its a small private school and there is only 1 handicap parking space in the lot. I am having an issue with people without placards parking there or in the paint lined space next to it to drop off their kids which leaves me to struggle to get my daughter out of the car with very little room. I asked the school to put a note on the memo board about it but 2 weeks later there is no note and it is still happening. It is different people/cars each time so putting notes on cars would be difficult. Does the school have a legal responsibility to enforce the laws within their parking lot? If I have to I will call the police to enforce it but would rather try to be diplomatic about it first.
Thanks!

Notify the Police, and tell them what time, and where the problem exists. A few citations should resolve the issue. Diplomacy does not work with ignorance. Those people do not belong in a handicapped parking spot.

call the police. there is a process to get another handicapped spot put in the school. i think the city must do that. they police could probably direct you / advise on process. good luck. follow through and don't feel bad. we need more handicapped parking than one spot. the vets are coming back sooon and there will be an even greater need.

you arent being diplomatic with your present actions, but rather you are being kind. and possibly even a bit passive. you gave the school a chance to address this on their own. thats more than you needed to do. report your situation to the police. ask for a summons to make the school take action. keep in mind, your actions are for the benefit of the child and not against the school. how far would you go for your child -- ask yourself that and then take all the necessary action to go there.

The school should try to enforce thed parking laws. The police can also write tickets for it on private property.

You have been diplomatic. Sounds like you already have you hands full. Call the police, or write letters to the LE agency traffic unit, and to the dean.
