The last answer is correct....holding are the assets that the fund is invested in. To elaborate, holdings are the shares of stock, bonds, demand accounts, etc that the fund has. Of course, most often holdings in stock mutual funds refers to the individual company stocks that the fund holds. For bond funds the relationship is the same...It is the individual bonds that the fund holds.
