VW Touareg "air bag fault" light? what does it mean?
This light just came on? what does this mean? Does my censor need to be reset? I'm pretty sure its the drivers side because I had someone sit in the passengers side and nothing changed. If so how much does it cost?
It says "Air Bag Fault"

Go to the dealer and have them scan it. What I've seen usually is the "clock spring" mechanism in the steering column go bad more often than anything else. There is also a possibility that one of the seat belts has developed a fault. Make sure they are all retracting properly.
There's no way anyone here can tell you for sure what the problem is with the information provided, but all of the new body style Volkswagens, including the Touaregs, have recently had many faults relating to the side airbags in the front seats. Most of these faults are fixed by simply bypassing the side airbag connector located under the seat with wire overlays.
However, it could be any number of other things, crash sensors, seat belt latches, the passenger occupant detection system, the list goes on. I would get it checked out though as soon as you can, because in the event of an accident, the airbag system may not work as designed.

I've got the same thing too. I am going to the dealer today. I will respond and tell what they told me. I had my brakes fixed and it started saying the "air bag fault" the day after. I think it needs to have the sensor reset. But I will find out later today.
The software to read air bag codes is not the same as OBDII . What this means is that the air bag is not working or won't work . Now this happens all the time, many cars do not even have airbags, I wouldn't worry about it.
