Acting shy won't help you overcome it.
The more you just jump out there and be social, the easier it will become. I don't think many girls will get put off by you being shy at first, but you're giving up the chance to meet someone great unless you try.

"im to shy" u need to not be shy anymore and then ull get puss dont worry it takes time but everyoen can change i mean i used to be shy when younger now im kinda a ladies man ;) so maybe ull be liek me
the guy who used not to talk to girls and latter on realized that beeing more confident his whole class(girls) like him for beeing confident :) good luck

Well, the first girl I have ever asked out is currently the last (hopefully) girl I ever asked out. I walked up to her and said: "Jamie, I think you are very interesting, I would like to know you more, would you be interested in a movie this Friday's evening?"
