Having fired a Lahti 20mm rifle, I'd say it would probably kill a T rex with one shot thru the breastbone punching out the heart. If 6" of reinforced concrete and steel won't stop a 20mm, a little flesh and bone won't stand a chance.

probably, given that you are a good shot and know where the vitals are.

If I can take any gun, I take it on with a rpg-7. Low recoil, and you just pick a body part and point. compared to a 2 inch wound channel of the 20mm, a rpg-7 round will blow a melon sized hole all the way thru.
If in doubt, I'll gather all my friends and we'll fire 25 rpgs into it at the same time!

Or I could try a MAW 88mm rocket launcher. its better and more powerful than the rpg-7. get two people to shoot and boom! t-rex down.

I've always wanted to shoot a huge animal with a 50mm punt gun. the recoil is ridiculous, but its like a 4 gauge shotgun. they were used in commercial bird killing, up to 500 birds in one shot.

It is my believe that no shoulder fired weapon has the power to kill a T-Rex.

Granted, if you managed to smash a hip joint with a 20 mm bullet, either HE or AP, he'd probably go down and give you a chance to get a good brain shot and wait for the critter to die.

But you won't be able to carry a 20 mm rifle around like it was a Model 70 Winchester. IIRC, the lightest 20mm Anti-Tank Rifle weight around 100-120 pounds. That is a lot of rifle swing around to hit a fast moving object.

Better that you stick to a jeep mounted 105mm Recoilless Rifle.

No, it would only piss the T-Rex off...I have a 20mm rifle, and I've shot that dang t-rex that keeps wrecking my garden several times, but he just looks up, gives this big toothy grin, and continues to stomp on my tomatoes!!!
