over the years, i had started this hobby almost completely alone. my parents are immigrants from a country torn apart by war. i learned alot from you guys. cane toad, and bear crap are the two who influenced me heaviest. i digress. i knew very little about this hobby. i was going through some pretty hard times back in 2011, 2012. didnt have any friends. my family is so traditional i dont even want to start on that. but the types of practices they do, will make anyone unfamiliar with middle eastern christian practices gasp. ive learned so much from all of you that i myself have taught many people about guns, changed their minds, educated them, taught people all about the history, function, and safe handling of firearms. while in the military i went in as one MOS but i was treated more as a weapons repair. always qualified expert. when i went overseas, some bad things happened. and i realized how some of you all ended up so grizzled and crochity. ive joined the club myself haha. i wanted to thank you all personally for teaching me everything you did, there is very very few of you that i hold any animosity for. and those of you that i do, ill be sure to unblock. maybe we can all catch back up on the firing line sometime? the forum. not real life. my username on there is hammer_jockey_91

I seem to remember those Nagant questions. I've been around firearms my entire life and have tried to share that passion with others. Sometimes here on yahoo, mostly in my real every day life. I've had one other account before Cane Toad Mutiny (Now CTM, same account just shortened the name) I don't even remember what that account name was. It was back when the interface was green and user friendly. I just now logged in to The Firing Line, I haven't been there in years, but apparently my account still works. I'll send you a PM there.

I am the ex-brother-in-law of a yahoo answers regular and he has not figured me out yet or he would have fired me from a low paying crappy job even though i use his office computer. I've been here for at least 5 or 6 years when I first started to get into guns. Been on yahoo answers as a teen since 2007. Yahoo answers was great back then, until they started changing their site encouraging trolls and so on. Uhg.

I remember glacier wolf and some others who answered my questions back then. I started off asking a bunch of questions about Mosin Nagants since it and a .22 were my first rifles. I think I annoyed people sometimes with them. Sorry about that guys lol.

When I came to the hunting section/guns I was so ignorant about guns people thought my severe n0oBness questions were me being a troll. I just had no idea about guns or anything, so I came here to find out. I know I guess some of those questions were really dumb, but this place is about learning and I've learned a whole lot since then.
 Well, its not too important on who I am, I had a bunch of different avatars, one of them was one of my emo/goth high school days selfies, everyone started commenting on how I looked like the next school shooter so I changed it lmao. I swear I'm not, it was just a high school phase some millennials went through lol

This place was great twenty years ago.  Lots of good questions, lots of talent here answering.  I had a allot of misconceptions that people here helped me with.

I'm not sad to see this place go away.  Yahoo Answers had many toxic months and with no supervision it dropped in mayhem.

CTM, I believe your previous name may have been Butch C? I had a Google Earth image of where all the "Josh's Friends and Guns" members were, and there's a pin in your area that says Butch C.

Have Newell or Joe Bober made appearances lately? Those were some fun times.

Maybe if you had changed your avatar to "7 shooter" we could have helped support each other on the Nagant revolvers during the period when YA allowed comments. That`s where I learned the most...and...got ragged the most by two "know it alls" that never asked questions nor answered any to my knowledge but lurked in the shadows of the comments section. They are forgiven and their agitation stimulated me to research more...even to the point of buying a firearm(s) for experimenting purposes that I would not have bought otherwise. 
Hope you weren`t offended when I posted a modified Nagant revolver along with picture of my collection of Saturday Night Specials. 
I usually delete a % of my answers and all of my pictures if possible before the question is ended. I do buy nice Nagant revolvers when I can.
Good luck in the future with the forum venture. I don`t do forums because of the redundancy but do drop in occasionally to read only.
