What program could I use or where could I go to convert vhs's into dvd's?

I got a couple of vhs tapes that i want to convert into dvd's. How would i go about doing that? Is there a certain place to go. How much will it cost? OR could i do it from my own computer? Which program to use or website that will tell me?
-Thanks in advance :-)

You could do it from your own computer, but there's a fair bit of hardware and software involve (e.g. you would need to be able to connect your VCR to video/audio input on your computer, then you'd need a video capture card/program to convert the video into a format that can be transfered to DVD, and then you'd need software to burn the DVD, along with a DVD drive that can write the DVDs.) If it's not something you're going to be doing on a regular basis, it's probably not worth the investment (in both time and money).

You need a video capture card for your computer
You need a program that will edit and make DVD's from the resulting capture (Windows Movie Maker can do this, if you like)

Capture cards (good ones) can run between $100-$500
