Clinton campaign told Canada to take her anti-nafta rhetoric with a grain of salt.?

I just read the story on Yahoo news..How do the people in Ohio feel? How can you bash your opponent for something you did yourself?

I knew about this story before it broke on Yahoo! News. When the Obama story first broke, the CNN news anchor added at the VERYtail end that the Clinton campaign had been accused of the very same thing. When I heard it, it was really early in the morning. After that, I watched CNN nearly all day. They NEVER mentioned that story again. I started to wonder if I had heard right. Turns out I did. I would have posted a question about it then, but I couldn't find any sources to link.

What upsets me about the Obama/Canada smear is that it was completely debunked, twice. The first time Obama was unaware that his economic advisor had met with Canada. So yes, he lied, unintentionally. He also came back and apologized for the misinformation, after it had been confirmed. Even then, it was known that Canada contacted the Obama advisor and not that Obama's camp contacted them. Even through all of that, the Clinton story was sitting on the media's desk. They knew all along that the Obama smear wasn't true. They knew all along that Clinton had actually done it.

The question is is this story true? I mean why would it be coming out now, 2 days after the story on Obama came out and 2 days after the Ohio Primary? Wouldn't have Obama's people released this when the story on him was released or does he not have people that do this research for him in his campaign. I believe this story is to benefit Republicans somehow by trying to discredit both Democratic Candidates. It won't work, becasue they will both be on the same ticket & Hillary/Obama Obama/Hillary either will beat McCain easily. The people are tired of the past 8 years we are ready to have some hope and results back in this country.

The story is that both of them, obama and clinton, said the same thing to canadian officials, but it was at a higher level for obama.

BUT keep in mind they didn't say "with a grain of salt". They said that they weren't going to totally withdraw from nafta. That's it. Both of them said they'd threaten to withdraw completely from nafta if canada and mexico were unwilling to negotiate changes. And both kinda backtracked on the threat.
I don't either were lying so much as they never realized the consequences of that threat when they said it. Pulling out of the trade deal with your biggest trade partner.

But it is despicable that clinton would attack obama for doing the same thing. Yet notice that clinton didn't say that much about it, attacking obama I mean. The media did it for her. She could have attacked a lot more and this is the reason.

I'm a Republican, and I love it. Thank God for Hillary and Obama. The world is finally getting to see Democrats for the liars that they are. Next time you hear a Dem say he is for "us working class people" remember this crap. They just tell people what they want to hear, pie in the sky. I can't wait for the Democratic Convention when Obama has the most state delegates, and the super delegates give the nomination to Hillary. It will look like Watts.

"Unlike the Obama campaign, we can and do flatly deny this report and urge the Canadian government to reveal the name of anyone they think they heard from. The Obama campaign has given a variety of misleading answers to the press and the public about its top economic adviser’s contacts with the Canadian government and should come clean about why they did so." – Campaign spokesperson, Phil Singer
