Seniors (over 60 y.o. please) - do you ever remember weather . . . . ?

such as we have experienced over the past 5 years? For instance last week end it was 70 degrees F. here in Missouri, and then on Monday morning it was 31F and snowing - 6" was predicted but we only got 2" - it has been very cold all week but this week end it is supposed to warm up again. I watch the National News so I know that these freaky weather changes are not just taking place in my State. Do you remember when you were in your 20's what the weather was like in March of the year?

March is always unpredictable here in NC....I have seen March come in with temps in the 80's and stay that way, and I have seen it snow 12 inches as late as March 22....I happened to notice on my "Local on the 8's" one day last week that the record high for that day was 82 degrees, and the record low for that day was 6 degrees.....I think tornado's are the greatest change...I saw my first one in 1958, and it was about 10 miles away, and the undulating funnel was spooky..It was the talk of the town for months....My next tornado was in 1987, and I lost a pickup truck, an outbuilding, and cut up trees from May to July.....Since then, there are perhaps 10 to 15 tornado's in this area every spring and summer....That is something that has changed drastically over the past 40 years.....Whatever has caused this change can change back anytime it wants to..........

I am in N.W. Tn. so I am pretty much having the same weather that you are. Sunday it was 70 here also and very cold on Monday morning. Today we have 2" of snow. It is because of Global Warming.
In my 20's as when I was younger March was windy and more spring like as far as temerature goes. I can remember March days that were warm enough to open the windows and there were some cool ones too. Not quite as extreme as we have now.
I actually remember March of 1976 very well for personal reasons. On March 1st it was about 75 here. Then on the 2nd it was warm enough to wear shorts and I did. On the 4th it was very cold. I remember because I attended a funeral and it was cold enough to wear a coat and it was windy. That was the last cold day of that spring as far as I remember.

Yes, the weather has been weird. I live in Indiana and actually saw a few motorcycles out last weekend. This weekend, we have 6 inches of snow on the ground and more on its' way, and it is cold.I wrote on my calendar that last year I was putting my crabgrass killer/lawn fertilizer down on March 17th, and I mowed for the first time on March 30th. I don't think it will happen this year, but you never know.

We have a very early spring here in the DC area. Saw crocuses up the other day. We've had very little snow all
winter. Lots of rain though. I'm ready for spring.
