The IRS has a habit of mis-management. They insist on you keeping impeccable records and accounting for every dime yet they mis-place their own records and have lost track of millions and millions of dollars. They are a joke, in the manner of Hitler. If they weren't so vicious they'd be funny. They do not hesitate to close down businesses (their main source of income) without just cause. A flat tax would be infinitely more efficient and save taxpayers billions. The income tax system is an honor system and they assume no one has any honor, therefore must be lying. A real live catch 22. A total discredit to the country.

($42 million is how many tenths of seconds of spending?) Don't listen to anyone's emotional drivel. Most people on this forum need to realize that the purpose of this tax rebate is not to help you pay your bills, or to bail you out of debt, or to help you "make it one more month," or to afford school, or afford the gasoline in your car, or afford your home payment, or anything like that. The ONLY purpose is to add just enough dollars to the economy to help soften a recession (that might already be here). And that's it. Nothing more. Nada. People have to realize that this tax rebate is not about THEM. It's only about the economy. And, that's a fact.

$42 million dollars...You MUST be joking...why not just send notices via email to people's bank or employers on whose getting a check so THEY can notify the people and Wah-lah, no wasted tax money. But oh no, that's not how things are done. Because you know the IRS people are sticklers for formality and that they just HAD to send us all notices made of that pretty lilac scented stationary at $1.50 a page.
