I know that one of the symptoms of an impending heart attack is a shooting pain in one arm but I don't remember which arm it is. Also, I have heard that this is due to the direction of blood flow to or from the heart but once again I don't remember why they are related.

Found this on a previous question like yours answered by william k
"it is only your left arm if one of the right arteries has the blockage.
My right arm is the one that hurt just before my heart attack back in '99. The blockage was in my left anterior descending artery (called the artery of death!). Then the pain spread across my chest and down the other arm."
also very few people know your heart is actually in the middle of the chest, which is why the pain can go either way
