Is John McCain a nice person?

I would like some answers from people who have actually met John McCain in person.

I've met him (for about 30 seconds) and he seems very congenial. I think he can be a stubborn pain in the @#$ though - he needed to be though to endure 5 years of torture as a POW!

Yes, he is a decent, honest man. He was interviewed last night by Sean Hannity who tried to point out that McCain's son had served in Iraq. McCain told him that he did not want to bring his family into the conversation. He said he was proud of all of his children. Hannity persisted that he just wanted to point out that McCain's sons had served and McCain again told him that he did not wish to discuss his family as they had nothing to do with his candidacy and he wanted them to have privacy.

He is the only candidate at the moment that answers all the questions the media asks of him... I think it is great that he is that open and honest.

I have heard he can have a temper... but what is a little passion for what you believe in.

A nice guy? I think so, if he had not of been he would not of been able to work with the Democrats as many times as he has.

If you think he's a nice person then why did he insult his fellow senator John Cornyn with the F-word?

I met JM at the last Republican convention. He is a quite the gentleman, somewhat liberal with regard to some issues, however overall JM is a true conservative.
