Glucose Testing?

So here I am in my 3rd pregnancy and never had a problem.
the OBGYN office called and I have failed the 1 hour glucose test. I have to fast and do a 3 hour in 2 weeks.
Does anyone else have to deal with gestational diabetes? I'm a little afraid!

With my last pregany I was diagnosed wth gestational diabetes. I was scared too, however it really wasn't a bad as I thought it would be. Mine was controlled with checking my glucose levels before and after I ate and with diet. I know the DIET word is a little scary, but I am a very picky picky eater, and I was able to stick to it. And you know what, I actually maintained weight very well (unlike my first three pregnancies). In fact, I lost all my pregnancy wieght upon giving birth which was a first! So there is a bright side! And it is common to fail the first 1 hour test ad pass the three hour one, so try not to worry. I strongly recommend diabetic teaching though if you do end up having it, it will help show you how to plan your meals and show you how much is available to you.

what was your score on the 1 hour? I failed the 1 hour with a 48 and passed the 3 hour with flying colors. I am sure you are fine and if you do have gestational diabetes they will control it with diet and exercise. Try to relax, things could be worse.

I had the test done, oddly enough it wasnt positive, considering every female in my family had it!! I didnt tho, i did however fail the 1 hour, then the 3 hour was normal
