DSL disconnects on every power failure.?
I'm using an ADSL modem Dlink-302T with a Dlink Router for distributing traffic at home. I'v several UPS to keep power up and running. We are short of power in our country and we keep facing power outages for load balancing etc.
We get several down times a day. All my UPSs keep things up and running well, including all the PCs, switches, router etc.
Now the problem is, whenever the power goes out (and we switch to UPS) or whenever it comes back up (we switch back from UPS to main power), my DSL modem is disconnected (desynced). Modem connects great and ad great speed (I have a 1Mbps link). I dont use any other phone or fax on the line and dont need a filter. Any idea?
I'm not using manual switching from power to UPS. These are automatic UPS devices that are successfully keeping all PCs and switches etc up and running. My modem, even, does not reboot on a power shifting from supply to battery, but that actually causes the loss of line sync. The modem sync/DSL lite goes off.
I have even tried re-booting the modem from the console (the web based control panel of the modem), but even then the line does not come back. Only way to bring this modem back is power-down the modem and back up again.
I have no issues with wireless or local connectivity.
Moreover, its not necessary that it disconnects always on a power to ups switch. It may or may not disconnect.
By the way, I have tried 2 modems , one from Dlink, and another from a chinese brand, but both give the same results.
Need more input guys.
