1) The Penguins retiring Jagr's number. I don't know if the Penguins management carries same animosity towards Jagr that the Flyers do, I would suspect that would have eased some since Mario has become involved as an owner. More importantly, Jagr was a cog in the two Stanley Cups the Penguins won.
2) My personal preference would be neither, we have enough teams. If we were discussing relocating, I would go with Vegas. You can give the tickets away at the casino with the free drinks.
3) Austin Lemieux. Ty Gretzky did not play organized hockey until late in life and spent his sophomore season a Shattuck St-Mary's playing on the lowest level club team. Austin, while not playing the caliber of hockey his father did at the same age has spent more time on the ice.
4) Glenn Anderson. Extremely similar statistics, Anderson has more rings.
5) The Kings under new ownership. The Leafs make the teachers more money and that is their primary concern.
6) The NHL surpassing the NBA in popularity. The NASCAR surge has begun to subside.
7) Drug scandal. It would be far to difficult to detect a cheating scandal in the NHL.
8) Toughest of your questions: I will say Asian players. There is a Japanese professional league. While it is not a very good league, they at least have professionals. I know this because they have sent American born IIHF officials to work their playoffs the last two seasons.
9) Ovechkin being the all-time leading Russian scorer. He had a head start and is a more talented player than Patrick Kane.
10) The St. Louis Blues remaining in town. They are going to be better soon and it is more of a "hockey town".
1. Pittsburgh retiring Jagr 2 words here "Stanley cups".
2. Gotta say Neither but I think Kansas city would be more likely, Vegas is a great sports town but they possess no home town fans.
3. Well 30 years ago if you have asked the same questions about Howe and Hull the correct answer would have been both eh? haha, so I will say both.
4. Glenn Anderson, played for those amazing Oilers dynasty teams and was a key part of their winning system. I am amazed that no one talks about how great he was when I watch the old films of that team on classic.
5. LA (too bad though, I am a Leafs fan)
6. I believe the NHL is already behind Nascar but I would like to think we can make a comeback, either way I am a hockey fan for life and will never stop watching.
7. In the NHL? thats tough. I don't see drugs as becoming a problem in the NHL, so I'll say cheating.
8.Latin Americans.
9. Ovechkin, he is already only behind Gretzky and Bossy in Goals scored during their first 3 years. Kane could do it too but Alex will do it first and maybe go on to even more.
10.St. Louis, Andy Murray and company have worked hard to turn that organization around and have made steps in the right direction. Things in Florida just are not great because of the terrible hockey market there. St. Louis still has fans a good fan base that is loyal.
2. Las Vegas...Kansas City didn't work the first time...
3. Ty Gretzky
4. Theo Fleury
5. Los Angeles Kings under new ownership
6. Te NHL falling behind NASCAR in terms of popularity...NASCAR is the #1 sport in America to watch...No joke. You'd think it's baseball or football, but no, it's NASCAR.
7. A cheating scandal
8. An influx of Asian players...There are already a few who broke the NHL - Setoguchi, Kariya, Fukufuji, Park, etc.
9. Alex Ovechkin...definately...Do you see the numbers hes putting up??? Kane's good, but I think he might come close to becoming the leading American scorer, but if it happens, Alex will beat him first.
1. Penguins retring #68. 2. Hmmm, toughie, I would say they both come in at the same time. I'd give a slight edge to Vegas, although I don't want to see a team there. 3. I have no idea...how old are they even? lol 4. Hmmmm, I didn't really like Fleury, I remember he shot a puck at a ref in England once. Anderson is more likely imo. 5. Kings. The death-cycle that is the Toronto Maple Leafs shall never cease to exist. 6. NHL falling behind NASCAR, I'm pretty sure it's already behind NASCAR. Have you seen ESPN lately? Stupid ESPN *grumble* *grumble* 7. Drug scandal, although both are unlikely. ~ I said cheating before, but I edited it out because I misinterpreted it. I thought it was cheating as in a player cheats on their wife or something, lmao, wow I'm tired... 8. Asian players. At least some parts of Asia have ice and stuff. Latin Americans are all from South America and Mexico, it's a pretty hot climate and their countries are not very developed. 9. Alexander Ovechkin, Sergei Fedorov only has about 1000 points. It will be easier for Ovechkin to catch him than for Kane to catch Modano's 1200+. Besides, Ovechkin already has 304 career points. Kane only has 65 career points. 10. The Blues imo. It's a good hockey city. The Blues are a historic team, I don't think they'll leave.
1. The Penguins retiring Jagar's #68 2. Las Vegas 3. Austin Lemieux 4. Theo Fleury 5. Toronto Maple Leafs 6. The NHL surpassing, a car can't beat the game of hockey. 7. A drug scandal (Ray Emery) just kidding :) 8. An influx of Asian players 9. Alex Ovechkin 10. The St. Louis Blues remaining in town.
