Can you tell me the Pros and Cons Orlando Fl vs New York?

I used to live in FL and LOVED it!

Just like NY has the city and then a bunch of farmland, Florida does as well. We lived in this (horrid) redneck town about an hour outside of Orlando and it was like night and day difference between the two.

If you're talking about New York city though, I'd personally prefer Orlando. But here are some pros and cons to both:

FL pros:
>More family friendly than NYC
>All the theme parks-- and FL residents get tickets at a cheaper rate! It's like being on vacation all the time.
>No matter where you live, you're never more than 1-2 hours from a beach.
>Less traffic (although it's still VERY busy)
>"Cleaner"-- there are more trees and less concrete
>Warm weather

Cons:
>ALWAYS hot
>Hurricane risk (but houses in FL have to meet certain hurricane codes. The worst damage is usually closer to the coast and usually b/c of flooding and/or roof damage
>Your friends and family may try to "free load" on you often because they can go on vacation and stay at your house for free instead of paying for a hotel room.
>Palmetto bugs-- AKA "flying cockroaches". Even the cleanest families get them inside once in a while. You have to spray alll the time.

NYC Pros
>Four separate seasons (not "hot" and "hotter" like FL)
>Holidays (Christmas and Thanksgiving) seem more real because of the weather
>Virtually no hurricane risks
> When you take a vacation to FL, it will be more special b/c you're not used to seeing it every day.

NYC Cons
>TRAFFIC is unbearable
>Homes are a LOT more expensive than in Orlando


Whichever you choose, there will still be hookers and dealers inner city. But all things being equal, I love FL. It just depends on which things are important to you.
