2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Interior lights won't dim and go out & elect wind won't work til they do see details

When int. lites dim and go off then the power windows & locks work perfectly. It's getting worse as the lites stay on longer and longer & can't open windows. The locks on the passenger side do work even when lites are on. The remote will then lock the passenger & 2 rear but not the drivers door. Also if you turn the int. lites off manually at the dimmer switch, it saves lites from burning but won't release the electric windows and locks. Sometimes when you open the driver door the int. lites don't come on & then they come on when you turn the key either way. Also when you put key in ignition it makes a continuous beeping noise that won't go away if you turn left to auxillary, but it does go away when ignition is turned on. So now whenever this beeping noise is there the windows/locks don't work & you know that the lights are still on or their switch is engaged.
Only way power windows/locks will work is if the interior lights dim & go off by themselves. All other electrials work fine.

The Jeeps are known for that problem. The black accordian looking tube when you opent he driver side door ahs broken or corroded wires inside. Thie exact symptoms you describe can be fized with a simple wiring repair to that harness. Repair cost could range from $100-$200. Someone who knows what they are doing (dealership) should fix that.

look for the switch -button that lets the car know the door is closed.i have older jeeps but mine are located by the latch .while you have the door open push that in as far as you can .that should make the light dim out.then i would try a jumper-ground from door to frame.if its not a ground problem its the little switch-button.

I had the same jeep and the same problem. The ground between driver door and body is bad I just put a small jumper between the door and the frame.
