Romney...no question
It eliminates McCains admitted weakness on the economy.
That is one of Romneys strengths.

None of the above.
My choice? Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. T-Paw is a two-term moderate Republican governor of a blue Midwestern state, who has a history of crossing the aisle. His age (46 I think) can only help counterbalance McCain's. As a matter of fact, T-Paw is a lot like a younger, less hot-headed version of McCain, only with executive experience (something I think all Presidential tickets should have). It also might pull Minnesota into the McCain column, and solidify Wisconsin's Republican trend. Finally, his vocal support for John McCain, even when his campaign was in its darkest days, shows that he is a man of his convictions.
Many of the people here have it right when saying that Crist or Jindal would be poor choices. Both are first-term governors, neither have really had time to do much, and they both represent states that are definitely going to McCain in the fall.
However, I have to respectfully disagree with the majority of respondents when they say that Romney would be a good choice. He was a single-term governor of a state that McCain has no shot at carrying. He has a history of "flip-flopping" on issues, much like fellow Massachusetts resident John Kerry. He has supported strict gun control. He has raised the tax liability of Massachusetts residents (lowered taxes, but raised all kinds of fees to make up for them). True, he has business experience, but that's about it. He'd make a good Cabinet member, maybe Secretary of Commerce, but definitely not Veep.

It will likely be Romney because rumors about Crist's sexuality would make the poor guy cannon fodder during the election.
P.S., I live in Florida and I do like Crist as governor.

Charlie Crist. Romeny has baggage, Jindal is new to the political scene and relatively unknown.

If I am limited to one one of the three named- Charles Crist , the Governor of Florida.
Given additional room to search out other candidates I like Senator Mel Martinez of Florida or Steve Forbes, an expert on the economy.
