Is it racist to vote against Obama because he is black, but not racist to vote for him because he's black?
Many have been referring to the whole race issue in this election as a defining time in the history of the American political system.... The Dems party is so certain they can defeat the Repubs that they chose a female, Billary, and a black, Obama. I think Obama was chosen to get the electorate used to having a black on the ticket. Billary was the "heir apparant" and was slated by the party regulars to be the big "first female president". It appears to me that there is a core of supporters for each one, and then there are the regular voters who may be voting for one candidate in order to defeat the other-silly isn't it, but the candidate that is eventually chosen may only be the one who has the least amount of people who find them distasteful as a potential president. Either way, the race issue has been broached, and it will continue as an "event" in american politics for a long time-I think it is great!

Isn't it just a brilliant double-standard the government has programmed us to shy away from. You are a racist if you don't agree with blacks, or simply poke fun at them. But, when it happens to a white person, it's all of the sudden different.
It also amazes me that the Clinton administration did wonders for the black community, but now the majority have abandoned her. Race takes precedence.
If you question refers to basing the vote on the color of his skin (either to vote for or not for him), then to me it isn't, but because I'm not black I'm probably being labeled as racist right now.
However if you mean, that a person has good reasons to vote for him but doesn't because of his race, or a person dislikes him as a human but is voting for him because of his race, then that definitely is racism
The sad thing is that, most likely, the only race issue saw here is the first one in the paragraph above, and people too often seem to overlook other complicated issues that surround racism during the presidential race. Regretfully, truth is dependant to the crystal through which you see it. And some crystals are very very very blurry
Ask Howard Dean and the democrats' super delegates what they are hoping for. It is so sad that all those who have voted in the democratic primary..their votes do not count...Michigan and Florida who knows what will happen there. I think it is so sad that it has turned out to be a race card played out for every reason. It has become a BLACK THING instead of what is right for America thing. A charismatic speaker has been the thing, no matter what he believes or what his changes are going to be. And, he has denied everything his mentor has taught him for 20 years. The very sad thing is when anyone believes a person simply because he is black or white..and that is a racist belief to accept a person just because his color and not his tenets and platform.
you're no longer a racist for asking the question. And your question, nevertheless sounding relatively paranoid, would not even sound racist. Many questions or remark do have a racist sound to them. it incredibly is purely my opinion. yet commence with the information that Blacks are purely 13% of the inhabitants of the U. S. and are traditionally democratic voters. you will think of that our numbers are plenty greater effective by using fact of all the undesirable press and blame that we get for any style of united states of america of america's ills. yet, the type is approximately 13%. it would desire to be that those black voters who beforehand voted Republican (an exceedingly small type) and voted self reliant (additionally an exceedingly small type) got here visiting to the Obama part for motives plenty the comparable as Powell's suggested motives for endorsing Obama. different Republians, popular non-black republicans have counseled Obama besides. they are no longer traitors or turn coats or turn floppers, they only have their very very own motives for endorsing him. So, the question and answer is how greater than a number of an impression did the black vote have. An impression, sure. yet evaluate the place the actual impression is. Obama won with seventy six% of the voters being white. The youthful, white voter is the place the actual impression is provided in. additionally evaluate white women folk. And final yet no longer least, additionally evaluate that crimson states purely became blue. So get rid of the 13% of blacks in united states of america of america, Obama in all threat nonetheless would have won. perchance, perchance the black vote helped to create the landslide, yet he nonetheless would have won by way of an substantial volume. Yea!!! Obama/Biden 2008 and 2012!!!
Why was race not an issue when Allen Keys was running. Obama is half white. He plans on winning all "57" states. That is reason enough to vote for anyone else. Hopefully he can put Shiela Jackson Lee as his running mate, what a joke that would be!
