I have a plant at home called Dieffenbachia which is poisenous and My dog had licked or ate some of it while I wasn't watching, she is an 11 year old golden retriever and I don't know the effects it has on her, when she licked it she started licking the air excessively and then going outside eating a bunch of grass which they do when they don't feel well sometimes.

First of all it's my mothers plant and when she started reacting abnormally I looked at the tag of the plant and immediately searched through the dictionary so it's not my fault i'm just trying to help her.

Also called "dumbcane" this plant contains high levels of calcium oxalate which can cause irritation and swell the dog’s membrane tissues and tongue to the point of possible suffocation. The plant is not a poison in itself, but the concentration of this crystalline substance is very high in dieffenbachia as opposed to spinach and Swiss chard which contain much smaller amounts.
If your dog has taken a bite of this plant, get him to the vet asap as an injection can counter the effects.
Call your vet, and tell them everything you told us. They will either give you instruction on what to do...or have you bring your dog in. They are the only ones that can truly help you.
And then remove that plant from your home or put it on top of the fridge or something. I pulled out an oleander in my backyard just because I knew it is poisonous to my dogs and don't want to even risk it...beautiful plant, not worth my dogs' lives though.
I feel like I say this too much, but the best option is to go to the vet. It obviously had negative effects on her because she is trying to get it out of her system. 11 years is pretty old for a golden, so her immune systems are not as strong as when she was younger. She may need help with this one.
