Why do cartoon characters always wear the same outfit??
like on Family Guy, The Simpsons, and all the other ones they ALWAYS wear the same outfit, why??

I especially loved it when they would show a closet (like in one particular Flintstone episode or in one particular Charlie Brown cartoon)..........
...........every single outfit in the closet was the same!!!!!

It's much easier for the illustrators.
But in some cartoons, they don't always wear the same outfits.
"The Weekenders" is the only one I can think of...

Actually the cartoon series 'Totally Spies' ; the characters have different clothes each episode, the only clothes that stay the same are their spy uniforms. But every episode, counting movies, they wear something different. All of them do.

because if they always had different clothes you might not know who the character is... eg. if rodd flanders and todd flanders from the simpson always changed clothes then you probly will get confused.
and the people drawing it will hav to work extra hard.

1) it's an icon they use, so they could make action figures of it
2) the artist have to draw many frames to make the cartoon, they can't make them change outfits every 'day'
