OTR drivers almost always wear boots while on the road...The real smart ones make sure that their footwear is safety-toed...There is nothing lightweight about a 40-ton tractor/trailer...Another reason is that with a manual transmission, both feet are busy on the clutch and accelerator working a 15-gear selector even though auto-shift trucks are now coming into service...Too much at stake to be messing around with bare feet.
Ya Its Me
its always more comfortable to me to drive barefoot. even in sneakers your feet aren't that comfortable after several miles behind the wheel.

I understand that it might be more comfortable and legal but I always look at what a police office would say if caught and he gave a ticket for..............
1. Reckless driving vehicle in wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property or...
2. Negligent driving vehicle in careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life and person...
Just my opinion, have a great day........

I don't have any reasons but i don't like driving with shoes on. Everytime i'm in the car I have to take my shoes off. That's just me. I usually don't feel comfortable with it on.
