I love the Roaring Fork at 7th and Congress. And there's no better place for happy hour than the Stephen F. Austin upstairs in the Intercontinental. Their outside deck has one of the most beautiful views of the Capitol.

Chez Nous, Starlite, Gumbos, Eddie V's, 3 Forks, Hudson's on the Bend, Aquarelle, Jeffery's.
Those are all pretty expensive places though. If you want something less expensive, McCormick & Schmick's might be a good option. Vespaio on South Congress is also good.

Eddie V's downtown. There is usually jazz playing, dim lighting, amazing food and good cocktails. Its pricy but definitely worth it. Also a nice steakhouse for a group is Flemings. Food and desserts there are great.

Here's a few of my favorites: Old Pecan Street Cafe, Cafe Josie and Castle Hill Cafe.
